Former Inspector General of Police and Chairman of the Association of retired Inspectors General of Police, Alhaji Aliyu Attah GCON, yesterday, Tuesday, February, 13th 2014, visited the Chairman of the Police Service Commission and also a former Inspector General of Police, Dr. Solomon Arase CFR, at the Corporate Headquarters of the Commission in Jabi, Abuja where he extolled his innovative leadership that has taken the Commission to new heights.

Alhaji Attah expressed happiness at the new found cordial relationship between the Commission and the Nigeria Police Force which he noted will surely impact positively on the Nigeria Police Force.

He commended Arase for his foresight in finally moving the Commission to its Corporate Headquarters after 12 years of its construction adding that the Commission’s current Headquarters is a beauty to behold.

Alhaji Attah said he has always believed in the abilities of the PSC Chairman to deliver on his mandate and advised that he should not be distracted in this mission to give the nation a Police Force that is not only efficient and effective but operates within the dictates of the law.

He confirmed his presence at the forthcoming launch of the Police Veterans Foundation holding in Abuja on the 5th of March.

Dr. Arase had welcomed his visitor and former boss to his office and intimated him on his efforts to ensure that all the previous standoffs between the Commission and the Nigeria Police Force was a thing of the past. He said he has succeeded in building an enduring synergy and mutual working relationship between the two organisations in the interest of national security.

Dr. Arase called on Nigerians to own their Police Force, support and show them love adding that this is the only way the Officers and men can give their best to the service of their fatherland.

He thanked his guest for accepting to attend the launch of the Police Veterans foundation.

The Police Veterans Foundation was conceptualised from the need to create a veritable platform for galvanising support for the welfare of retired Police Officers, most of whom are faced with debilitating health and financial challenges after retirement.

To achieve its objectives, it aims to raise awareness, mobilize support and establish a fund for the improved welfare of retired Police Officers.
