The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Musiliu Smith, a retired Inspector General of Police, today, Thursday, June 27th, 2019 received in audience, Senator Hezekiah Ayuba Dimka, a Member of the 9th Senate and retired Commissioner of Police.
The Chairman used the occasion to pledge an improved working relationship between the Commission and the National Assembly and appealed for an enhanced funding for the Commission to enable it discharge its challenging constitutional responsibilities to the benefit of the nation.
He also noted that the Commission will continue to work closely with the Police to ensure that security of lives and properties are guaranteed and that crime and criminality is drastically reduced.
Smith commended the visiting Senator for the visit and urged him to continue to identify with the Police and by extension the Commission and to also assist push bills relating to Police in the Senate requiring approval, and also remember the need for more Police personnel and enhanced welfare package for the Police and the Commission.
Senator Dimka, representing, Plateau Central Senatorial District, in his remarks assured the Chairman of his commitment to protect the interest of the Police in the Senate. “I will give honest and purposeful representation to my political constituency and the Police.”

“I believe that there is a lot the National Assembly and the Police can do together, I will cooperate with the Police and will assist in matters of policy and funding. I will be a good ambassador”.
