OKIRO RECEIVES LEADERSHIP AWARDS, PLEDGES COMMITMENT TO NATION BUILDING

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Sir, (Dr.) Mike Mbama Okiro, a retired Inspector General of Police, has pledged his commitment to nation building, stressing that he has dedicated the rest of his life to the service of God and the Nigerian Nation.

 

Dr. Okiro spoke in Abuja when he received two leadership awards from the Nkwame Nkruma Vision and Life Movement, Ghana, and the Trail Blazer Magazine, in a ceremony that witnessed profound testimonies of his meritorious service in the Nigeria Police Force and dedication to nation building.

 

He promised to continue to be of assistance in whatever capacity he is called upon in the service of the nation at all times.

 

The NKwame Nkruma Vision and Life Movement award, according to the Movement, is an award in honour of Africans and Africans in Diaspora who have impacted in different fields of nation building.

 

Pastor Felix Okonkwo, leader of the Group, said the award was in recognition of Dr. Okiro’s years of meritorious service to the growth of the Nigeria Police Force which spanned over three decades. He said he is also being recognized for his efforts at repositioning the Police Service Commission.

 

Speaking while presenting the Pan African Leadership award to Dr. Okiro, the leader of the delegation of the Trail Blazers Magazine, Mr. Emmanuel Oche said the award was in recognition of his leadership qualities which he has exhibited over the period of his active life in the Nigeria Police Force.
