DIG. Hashimu, Salihu Argungu (RTD) was born on 10th July,1957. He joined Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet ASP in 1984 and retired in 2016 with a rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG). His experience spans over 32 years in policing and security work. Academically, he has Masters of Laws (LL.M), Barrister at Laws (B.L.), Bachelor of Law (LL.B), Nigeria Certificate in Education (N.C.E) and Grade II Teachers Certificate. Within the span of his career, attended professional courses within and outside the country in several and various fields of studies, among others includes Policy and Sstrategic Studies at NIPSS, Kuru Jos, becoming a Member of National Institute (mni), International Banking and Money Laundering Course at Federal Law Enforcement Training Centre, Gaborone Bostwana, Public Corruption Certificate Course U.S.A. Department of Justice, Higher Management Certificate Course, ASCON, Lagos. Certificate for International Seminar from Institute of Directors for Business Transformation and Effective Succession Planning, Kigali, Rwanda; Appointed Consultant for the House of Representatives Committee on Police Affairs for the review of some Bills (2021), successfully participated in training on Data Privacy and Cybersecurity organized by Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria and Advanced Detective Course, Police Staff College, Jos. He regularly presents papers (Lectures) in various States and National fora (summits) on Security, Investigation and Intelligence, Leadership, Professional Ethics and Code of Conducts. Some of the
